Blue Water Snorkeling in Los Cabos
A wildlife-first day on the open Sea of Cortez aboard our 33-foot vessels. $150 USD per person.
Overview
$150 USD per person · 4 hours
Blue Water Snorkeling goes further offshore than our other tours, hunting for whatever the Sea of Cortez wants to show us that day: dolphin pods, mobula ray schools, sea lion colonies, turtles and, in season, whales.
We run it aboard 33-foot vessels equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, awning and amenities, so a longer day on the water stays comfortable. Guides read the water and radio between boats to follow the best activity.
What to expect: an approximately four-hour open-ocean wildlife adventure aboard a comfortable 33-foot vessel, departing from Marina San José del Cabo. Because the route follows the wildlife rather than a fixed course, every safari is different — you may ride alongside playful dolphin pods at the bow, watch schools of mobula rays leaping from the water, spot sea lion colonies hauled out on the rocks, and encounter sea turtles and seabirds. When conditions allow, we include a snorkel stop in a secluded bay with gear provided.
This is a fast-paced, thrilling experience designed for adventure seekers, wildlife lovers and repeat visitors who want to see the open Sea of Cortez at work. The difficulty level is easy to moderate and the tour is suitable for families with children, thanks to our comfortable vessel with kitchen, bathroom, awning and full amenities. For your safety we provide a full safety briefing, life jackets, fresh fruit, snacks and cold drinks. The best time for Blue Water Snorkeling in Los Cabos is year-round, with the wildlife varying by month.
It is the tour we recommend to guests who have already snorkeled and want to see the open ocean at work.

What guests say
“A fantastic snorkeling experience with Jonathan and Captain Ishmael of Openwater Expeditions. Jonathan was an excellent and knowledgeable guide about the area as well as the sea life. He never rushed us and kept trying to find more fish and sea creatures during the snorkeling. After about an hour in the water, we had lunch and cocktails before heading back to shore. Highly recommend!”

“We were taken to a secluded cove where there were no other boats so had the place to ourselves. The guide made sure we were in a place where we saw lots of fish. It was like swimming in an aquarium.”
